LG Z1

With Apple sales going up and up it is clearly time someone followed by their lead and invest more time and money than ever before in making spec’d out gadgets sexy. Apple success has came from a combination of exciting, innovative technology to get geeks peeing in their pants and wrapping it all up in attractive packages to get the mass consumer weak at the knees.

Many companies are obviously sitting up and taking notice, Samsung have their glossy piano black LCD screen’s and their new MP3 player range. Sony have their Vaio’s and their Cybershots but the dark horse has got to be LG. This once 2nd division electronic company is now right up their with the big boys. Products like the Digital Projector (AN110), Chocolate mobile phone range and the LGZ1 laptop to mention a few combine the both of best worlds.

LG in the past few years have been making big waves when it comes to be a front runner in innovative products. I’m not in the mood for listing them but take my word they are breaking down more barriers than anyone else. Combine that with a sexy wrapper and you have a winner. Where they fail to successfully follow Apple, is in advertising this could be argued, however they presents is not as strongly felt as their products deserve. They need to examine how Sony makes the mass consumer feel proud and happy to purchase into the LG brand. LG must get rid of the stigma attached to their brand, and I believe 2007 is the year of LG, will we see the first LG fanboy’s? Lets however pray there is one area they don’t copy the likes of Sony and Apple and that is on retail price.

Looks now like apple is taking a page out of LG’s book. I think it is clear that design at LG is defenitly taking a step forward.
